Levitivus 14:7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
Introduction
The blood of Abel spoke of condemnation and vengeance against Cain, but the blood of Jesus speaks better things than condemnation. But what does it say? I believe it speaks to God on our behalf. The blood speaks (present tense not past tense) Its speaking even now!
Leviticus 14 summarizes the Law of the leper. Leprosy in scriptures spoke about several different types of skin diseases and resembles sin. Blood had to be sprinkled seven times to pronounce a leper (sinner) clean. Seven is a number for perfection, completion and symbolises fullness. Jesus paid a complete package by His blood! This also foretold the suffering of Christ, how on seven times from Gethsemane to the cross the Lord bled on 7 occasions. Each time with great significance. I summarise below:
His sweat.
"And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground" (Luke 22:44).
What does it speak? Genesis 3:19a In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it you were taken:
He reversed the curse of unfruitful toil and the power of death
2. His face
"I gave ... My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard" (Isaiah 52:6).
· His beard spoke of His Sonship, he has made us to be sons
· Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
3. His head.
"When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head" (Matthew. 27:29-30).
Thorns were never a part of God’s original creation Genesis 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
The crown of thorns resemble curses, demonic influence over people’s minds, the Blood of Jesus speaks against demonic possession, obsession, torment. It speaks deliverance
4.His back.
"Then he [Pilate] released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified" (Matthew. 27:26).
1Peter_2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed
· It speaks healing of all diseases
5.His hands.
"For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands" (Psalm. 22:16).
· To bless the works of our hands
6.His feet.
"They pierced ... My feet" (Psalm. 22:16).
· Speaks of a righteous walk in our lives among other meanings.
· 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
7.His side. "But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out" (John 19:34).
When a child is born water and blood comes out. This spoke of the new birth of the church. The same way God took Eve from Adam’s side, the church was also taken from the side of Christ. Sin free, powerful
Conclusion
What a blessing just to know the full benefits to the born again, the package of salvation is a full one, complete. I am free from curses, demonic influence, I am a son to God, healed of all diseases, the works of my hands are blessed, I have been made righteous. Who I am I? I am a new creation in Christ Jesus!
